Victorinox is one of our favorites here at Gear Hungry, and it’s for reasons like this. The Maverick GS stainless steel chronograph watch looks like it was molded out of a singular piece of metal, destined to fit on your wrist. Citizen’s Eco-Drive line comes with many options for many budgets, and with AT0200, they came in with cost-effective alternatives while still retaining their fine craftsmanship and attention to detail. Resting on a comfortable, breathable canvas strap, your 41mm stainless steel case sits nice and tight. While you don’t get a unidirectional bezel, it is made of the same steel, aiding in encasing your Japanese quartz movement for up to 330 feet of water resistance.

Additional features include luminous hands for nighttime use, as well as an ultra protective mineral dial window with anti-reflective coating. The predecessor to the Maverick GS, Victorinox still keeps the initial line going due to popular demand. So much so, that they’re available in seven different unique designs (though we’re huge fans of the silver-and-gold style). Tissot crafts some of the most premium-grade chronograph watches known to man, and the PR5 takes the cake for excellent design. Tissot’s 2016 model surprised even them, quickly becoming a flagship model for an entirely new audience, and enlightening those who’ve been Tissot enthusiasts for awhile.

Citizen knows what works – their Eco-Drive line-up. Out of all of, the Navihawk has to win for coolest super long title, and one of the best aesthetics of any watch we’ve seen. You’re able to see an insane amount of inner-workings going on, especially if you’re using the light-powered feature with luminous hands. A large and stunning 48mm stainless steel case safely houses your Japanese quartz movement, keeping everything water-tight for up to 660 feet of underwater travel.

On top of that, you get an anti-reflective mineral dial window, making it excellent for properly reading the time, no matter what point of day it is. With a polyurethane band, you don’t have to slip off your watch just because you’re about to hop in the pool – take it with you. Strong black metal crowns add depth to this piece, while the vast set of subdials and marks will entrance you. From the push-button closure to the professional marine look, you’re bound to love it.

Bulova is a little gem of a brand, one that we’re personally affectionate towards. After owning these watches for extended periods of time (simply to retire them when new watches come in), we can personally attest to their reliability. Just because you’re looking for a functional chronograph watch, doesn’t mean you can’t have a bit of bling in your life. The Michael Kors Lexington Chronograph Stainless Steel Watch oozes old-school luxury with its gold-coated stainless steel case and strap. You can wear this watch with a white vest or a suit, it’ll look just as good. The reason we like it so much though is because it offers modern watch features as well as a flashy design. For example, it has a stopwatch function, date window, and split-second track timer. Everything you need to keep perfect when you’re out for a night on the town. 

Another reason to love this watch is its durability. You can scratch the silver and gold paint but the stainless steel underneath will remain unaffected. The crystal is scratch-resistant and won’t crack under pressure. Plus, it’s water-resistant to 100m, so you can wear it when you’re bathing, swimming, snorkeling, and shallow diving. This is probably the least subtle watch on this list but there’s something about the audacity of wearing a gold watch that will never go out of fashion. 

A great chronograph watch should blend classic watch design with modern functionality and materials. The Fossil Men’s Grant Chronograph Quartz Watch does that perfectly. The genuine leather strap, Roman numerals, and the 50s style font are all there to pay homage to a simpler time. Then you’ve got the chunky stainless steel case, large hands, and modern colors, which bring the watch right up to date. Sometimes, when watch designers attempt this style, it can look confused and messy. Not this watch. It looks like it was always meant to be. 

It’s also worth mentioning that this watch is tough. The stainless steel case and leather strap are designed for everyday use, which is what makes the price so impressive. It’s rare to find a watch of this quality in the sub $100 market. For that reason alone, we think it deserves a place on our list of the best chronograph watches. 

The Citizen Watches Men’s CA0649-06X Eco-Drive is definitely one of the best-looking chronograph watches on the market. From the unique strap design to the off-white and black watch face, it has an aesthetic that will really stand out on your wrist. It’s one of those watches that looks just as good as an everyday wear watch as it does under a suit. It’s completely versatile in that way. One of the most striking features is the perforated watch strap. It’s not to everyone’s taste but it actually has a practical use to make the strap more breathable. If you often find dress watches too sweaty, you’ll love this design. The watch face is easy to read and has a useful chronograph function. It can be used to measure up to 60 minutes, has a 12/24 hour timer, and a date window.

The Diesel Men’s Mr. Daddy 2.0 Chronograph Quartz Watch has one of the most audacious watch faces we’ve ever seen. At first glance, it’s pretty hard to tell if it’s a watch at all or just a series of dials. Then you look closer and you see that the actual watch takes up about half the space and it’s slightly off-center. It also has a digital display, three sub-dials, and a date display window. Let’s face it though – no one’s buying this watch because it’s practical. One of the biggest selling points is the 57mm case. That’s about as big as it gets, so if you’re into oversized watches, it’s perfect.
