The Coolest Beer Koozie
1Nite Ize Traveler Drink Holster
The Nite Ize Traveler Drink Holster may not do a lot to keep your drink cool, but it is one of the coolest koozies out there and allows you to go hands-free with your drink or craft beer while keeping it nearby. During testing, I loved that I could quickly connect this to my side or somewhere on my van and that my drink was always handy. The 360 rotating locking clip allows you to use all kinds of surfaces and items to hang your drink on. The easiest is probably your belt or pants, but it’s much more fun to get creative.
This holster fits a huge variety of drink sizes, from standard cans to long-neck beer bottles and more. The ripstop polyester construction is extremely durable and able to withstand quite a bit of abrasion. I’ve only used this product while outside and camping, and it’s held up quite well! This product is also perfect for the grill master or host of a backyard barbecue. The hands-free option allows you to greet guests, offer hug, grill, and mingle with ease.

2RTIC Stainless Steel Can Cooler
The final frontier when it comes to beer koozies has always been the top. RTIC addresses that historical weak link in koozie design with their Stainless Steel 12 oz Can Cooler. The lid locks down to create an effective seal against heat transfer, which means this 18/8 durable stainless steel double-walled insulated beer koozie is also an outstanding vessel for transporting small amounts of hot or cold liquid.
You can search the world for a lidless koozie that will keep your beer cold during the 4th of July picnic this year, or you can cut to the chase and pick up the RTIC Stainless Steel Can Cooler. With its airtight seal and no sweat design, your drink will stay frosty and your hands will stay dry while you watch the rockets’ red glare. Between the lid and stainless steel insulation, you’re getting maximum temperature retention with this product.

3Thermos Stainless Steel Beverage Can Insulator
Thermos knows a thing or two about keeping drinks hot and/or cold. Their products have been staple items on construction sites, camping, and in lunches all over the world for decades. So it only follows that their Steel Beverage Can Insulator would be up to the task of making sure your craft beer doesn’t turn into 12 oz of lukewarm lager.
The Steel Beverage Can Insulator will keep a single 12 oz can icy cold for up to three hours and its sweatproof design means it won’t leave water rings on your furniture in the process. Whether you’re on an epic road trip, tailgating before the big game, or kicking back in the campground on a lazy August weekend, this beer koozie with its double wall stainless steel design and the insulated lid will deliver the chills. This is also one of the best can koozie options for work.

Like the Thermos, the YETI features a sweat-free design so you don’t have to worry about water rings all over your backyard deck. But unlike most other koozies, this one is also designed to fit into any standard-size cup holder, making it portable. That sleek design, 18/8 stainless steel throughout and the ability to keep your drink cold for hours make the YETI Rambler Colster a koozie to be reckoned with and arguably one of the best can insulator models on the market.

7Current Co. Slim Can Cooler Sleeves (5 Pack)
Next up, we’ve got a five-pack of Current Co. Slim Can Cooler Sleeves. Now, we’ll be the first to admit it – these beer koozies aren’t very high-tech. It’s basically a sock for your beer. But don’t let that put you off because simplicity is often at the heart of ingenious design. These cooler sleeves might look like cotton socks but they’re actually made from neoprene, a material known for its awesome insulating ability. This sleeve doesn’t have specific specs but expect these can koozies to keep your cold drink from becoming warm beer for about 30 to 60 minutes. You won’t feel like you have to kill your favorite drinks in five minutes.
These bottle sleeves are specifically designed for slim 12oz cans, but you can get them in a bunch of different sizes to fit longneck bottles, energy drinks, standard can sizes, and more. They come in five stunning pastel colors and have a silver top trim with the company logo on, to complete the look. You could even personalize them if you plan on gifting them to another beer lover.

8Chuggie Coolie Beer Bottle Cooler
The Chuggie Coolie is probably the best-designed beer koozie on the market, especially if you’re a smoker. We’re not going to promote smoking but if you already do, you’ll probably love this koozie. It has two integrated pockets on the front – one for your cigarette packet and one for a lighter. Then, on the back of the beer koozie, there’s a bottle opener. The Chuggie Coolie has everything covered!
If you’re not a smoker, you can find something else to keep in the pocket. It’s made from neoprene, which means it has amazing insulating properties. 9Thermos Stainless King Can Insulator
Thermos makes their second appearance on our list (which shouldn’t surprise anyone) with their Stainless King Can Insulator. Like a lot of insulated koozies and can coolers the King Can is a bit bulky. But unlike most can coolers this one addresses that situation by engineering a recessed horizontal channel into the design that allows you to get a much better grip on your brew than you otherwise would.
The unique 360-degree leak-proof lid allows you to close your eyes and drink from anywhere on the lid; essentially funneling liquid from the mouth of the can to wherever you are. It’s built the way you expect a Thermos product to be built and backed by a manufacturer’s warranty. This is one of our favorite beer can coolers.

10CyberDyer Beer Vests Beverage Cooler
One of the coolest beer koozies is this novelty item that adopts the profile of the tactical vest. The attention to detail on CyberDyer Beer Vests Beverage Cooler is pretty impressive with shoulder pads, MOLLE webbing, an adjustable hook and loop cummerbund, and loop fields on both front and back. Throw in the 1000D polyester material and you’ve got a koozie after Ant Man’s heart.
This awesome cooler makes a great gift for beer lovers who have everything. Just don’t buy it expecting it to keep your beer cold for 12 hours; it will keep your beverage cool for a couple of hours but that’s about it. It’s a nifty nick-nack for beer aficionados and should be viewed and appreciated as that. Keep it in mind at birthdays or Christmas time.

Who This Is For
This guide is for anyone looking for a koozie or can cooler to keep their drink ice cold. If you don't find anything you absolutely love on this list, we hope our buyer's guide can help direct you to the perfect model with helpful FAQs and features to look for.
How We Picked
As with all of my buying guides, I try to ensure I have a solid variety of products so that there's always a product for everyone. When it came to the best koozies, I wanted to ensure I had several materials and insulation options represented but that I also had lots of styles and colors available too. Many folks love to use awesome beer koozies not only to keep their drinks ice cold but to express their personal style.
How We Tested
Testing the best koozies involved quite a bit of drinking. Since I can't drink at the moment due to a concussion, my testing was mostly done with sparkling waters and canned kombucha. I also recruited some friends to help me test; it wasn't too hard when I told them all they had to do was drink and see how long their drinks stayed cold. Pretty much all testing was conducted outdoors while hanging out at rivers and while camping. We looked at how long models could keep drinks cold, durability, and ease of use.
Features to Look For in Beer Koozies
Material - We discuss build material in detail below in the FAQ section. In short, stainless steel offers the best insulation but is also bulky and these can coolers often don't compress for storage well. Foam and neoprene koozies and other insulated holders collapse for storage but generally don't provide as much insulation.
Holding capacity - Some koozies are specific to certain drink sizes and can really only be used with that kind of can or bottle. Other models are more versatile and are compatible with a variety of beverages and sizes. We have a little bit of both on our list.
Size - As with holding capacity, some koozies can hold only a certain can or bottle type like a standard can or slim can, whereas others are more modular and can hold a variety of beverages.
Beer Koozie FAQ
Q: What are beer koozies made of?
A: Beer koozies and can coolers come in various materials. The most common material on this list is stainless steel. These models often feature double wall vacuum insulation and offer the longest cooling time, often up to eight, ten, or twelve hours. The next most common material is neoprene, well known for its use in wetsuits. This material offers exceptional insulating properties and compacts for easy storage. These often come in a variety of sizes to fit cans, beer bottles, slim cans, and more. They keep your drinks cold for about 30 to 60 minutes depending on the ambient temperature and the starting temperature of your drink. Lastly, you will also find foam koozies, which offer the least insulation but are often the lightest and most customizable.
Q: How much longer does a koozie keep beer cold?
A: As discussed above, stainless steel models can keep drinks cold for several hours, up to twelve in some instances. Neoprene and foam models generally range from 30 to 90 minutes. It's best to think of stainless steel models as can coolers and neoprene and foam models as can koozies or can sleeves.
Q: How do you clean beer koozies?
A: Beer koozies can be cleaned in a few different ways, but this is dependent on the material. Some models can handle a washing machine and can be hung to dry, and this mostly applies to neoprene and foam can koozies. Larger can coolers that are often made of stainless steel can be wiped down with a cloth and gentle soap. All in all, it's best to always follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
Q: How do you store koozies?
A: Depending on the type and style of a can cooler or koozie, you can store them in various ways. My father likes to store them in a basket above the fridge, I've seen other folks leave them in drawers, whereas larger stainless steel options often end up in cabinets due to their size. Many can sleeves fold down easily when not around a beer bottle and can be tucked away. Some folks even hang wire and use clothespins or binder clips to hang their koozies instead of taking up valuable kitchen space.
