Palm-Sized Awesomeness
The DJI Mini 3 Pro boasts a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor with dual ISO, and its aperture ratio has been increased to a bright f/1.7. Needless to say, the mighty little drone comes with impressive low-light performance. The Mini 3 Pro also comes with a tri-directional obstacle sensing system and is equipped with backward, forward and downward dual-vision sensors, offering a wider sensing range and improved safety. The camera can also rotate for true vertical shooting, delivering detailed shots ready for social media.
Of particular note is the battery. While exceptionally lightweight, the Mini 3 Pro has an excellent battery – up to 34 minutes of flight time, which is three minutes longer than its predecessor. If you want an even longer flight time, it’s available with an optional Plus battery that is sold separately. If you purchase the Plus battery, you can expect up to 47 minutes of flight time. For a commercial drone in this price range, this is fantastic.
What about storage? Well, that’s less impressive. Sure, with 1.3 GB of internal storage you can snap some photos and record some video but it’s going to fill up quickly. Thankfully, there’s a slot in the back of the drone for a microSD card with up to 512 GB of storage and we highly recommend bringing at least a 32 GB card with you.
The Buy
The DJI Mini 3 Pro is available for $759 and includes a remote controller. If you already own a compatible controller, you can get the new drone for only $669. There’s also a third option available – Mini 3 Pro drone with the new remote controller with a pre-installed DJI Fly App and a 5.5-inch display for clear viewing even in direct sunlight. Naturally, this option is the priciest of the three and it costs $909.
