Viva Variety: Taylors of Harrogate Assorted Specialty Teas Box
A cup of tea is a sacred ritual for me and billions of other people across the planet. As humans, we’ve been enjoying tea for over 5,000 years, and we show no signs of stopping. Most articles I write are fueled by tea because coffee is too rough on my stomach, and water is boring. I was thrilled at the chance to review the Taylors of Harrogate Assorted Specialty Teas Box featuring 48 tea bags across eight different varieties. Without further ado, grab your favorite mug, get those pinkies up and let’s get started.
A Chance to Try Something New
One of the things I like most about variety packs of, well, anything, is the ability to try new things. While I’ve tried all the types of tea included before, it was great to explore a singular brand’s take on various classic flavors.
While testing, my roommates and I tasted each tea and shared thoughts. Then, as I had friends stop by to chat, I offered them tea. It was easy to open the lid to the Taylors of Harrogate Assorted Specialty Teas Box and allow them to choose their desired flavor. I see this box as a great hostess gift for the next soiree I attend.
Flavors in the Taylors of Harrogate Assorted Specialty Teas Box
There is everything from bright to malty and fruity to floral between the eight flavors included in the Taylors of Harrogate Assorted Specialty Teas Box. The flavor variety was excellent and had plenty of options for mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
My favorite flavor was the peppermint. I generally love peppermint tea but find if it over steeps, the flavor can go from soothing to intense in a jiffy. The organic peppermint tea included in this box of English teas had a smoothness to it that never left, regardless of steeping time.
While the initial aroma when opening the teabags was not intense, the flavor built quickly while steeping. I generally allow my teas to over steep because I like the strong flavor. Still, the flavors were so intense in the Assam and English Breakfast teas that I actually removed the teabags at the suggested times.
Packaging
When I received the Taylors of Harrogate Assorted Specialty Teas Box, I was initially a bit disappointed in the box. While the box got the job done, it lacked pizazz. The closure is a tab system, and the container holding the teas is thin cardboard. I did enjoy the additional information about Taylors of Harrogate on the inside of the lid; it was a nice touch. Even though my expectations proved to be off, the box served just fine throughout the review period, outside of a few issues. The dividers separating the tea varieties do not touch the bottom of the box, which allowed the individually packaged teabags to shift as the box moved or tilted.
The teabags themselves are individually wrapped and labeled. Each bag has a short flavor description and brewing instructions on the back. The back of the box boasts more detailed flavor descriptions for the curious.
